Police release surveillance images from Toronto restaurant shooting, seek 2 suspects

TORONTO — Police have released surveillance images from a shooting at a downtown Toronto restaurant on Sunday night.

Police responded to a shooting call at 9:50 p.m. ET at Michael’s on Simcoe, an upscale steakhouse. Two patrons, a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman both suffered gunshot wounds.

Police believe the shootings were targeted and said the suspects fled the area on foot.

Both victims were rushed to hospital with the male suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The female victim was in critical condition but has since been upgraded to non-life-threatening.

The male victim, Terry Nguyen, 29, of Toronto, was charged on Wednesday with the nine firearms-related offences.

Police requested help from the public in identifying the suspects on Friday.

“If anyone knows who these two men are, do not approach them. Call 9-1-1,” a statement from Const. David Hopkinson read.
